Since the new "Service Based Autobackup" facility runs as a "windows service" on your Docman server (synchronising via the API on the EMIS server), users wishing to turn it on should first obtain their EMIS Clinical Server "Administrator" password from EMIS support prior to calling PCTI technical support for installation assistance.
For security purposes, you should not disclose your EMIS Administrator password, this is simply required in order to install the service on the Docman Server so it can communicate with the EMIS Clinical server without having to be logged in. The Service Based Autobackup does not require anything to be installed on your EMIS Clinical Server.
In addition, this patch will also include the most recent versions of the EMIS API (for both PCS and LV) which are designed to keep Docman in line with the latest developments in EMIS clinical systems.
Users who are currently not experiencing issues do not need to turn on Service Based Autobackup.
The patch which is currently in beta is expected to be on general release prior to the end of June 08.
