South Staffs PCT deploy region-wide paperless solution

South Staffordshire PCT chose PCTI for a region wide deployment of our advanced Electronic Document Management solution Docman7.

Backround

A number of the South Staffsordshire GP practices were already using scanning technolgies to capture documents in to the patient record however the Trust recognised that it's practices could achieve real clinical and operational benefits by the adoption of a paperless system facilitating the rapid capture of documents (both clinical and non-clinical) and subsequent organisation, comment and action.

With practices using four different clinical system suppliers, including hosted systems and with a number of practices with branch surgeries a key requirement for the Trust was that a standard solution could be adopted for South Staffs practices 'across the board'.

The Solution

With a wealth of experience in delivering document management solutions at Trust level PCTI was recognised as being able to provide a one stop and proven solution. Integrating with all major clinical suppliers systems, both local and enterprise and specifically developed for implementation in branch environments Docman 7 was selected with the support of the practices.

The roll-out has been delivered smoothly and with installations and training nearing completion feedback from users has been extremely positive with the benefits that were highlighted as requirements by the Trust now being recognised at practice level through South Staffordshire.

Following on from this we are looking forward to continuing a friendly and productive relationship with the Trust and it's practices and are now in early stage discussion about Electronic delivery of documents to those GP practices within the region from the Secondary care environment
