Adastra & PCTI Sign Agreement to Provide Electronic Document Transfer Solution

PCTI, leading healthcare EDM provider and Adastra Software Ltd, leading unscheduled care Case Management System (CMS) provider have signed an agreement that will allow GP Practices in Scotland to receive Out of Hours reports directly into their Docman Document Management System.

This new agreement builds on a successful pilot project undertaken with NHS Ayshire & Arran which sees the Electronic Data Transfer (EDT) solution enabling practices to receive electronic documents from Adastra into Docman 7 via the Docman EDT module. Docman EDT will allow the documents to be tagged so that Docman DMS can automatically identify the patient and the sender for fast, efficient filing by the practice.

When implemented with Docman 7, Docman EDT provides a fully integrated solution for document management and onward filing into the GP clinical system. EDT Documents are 'delivered' to the GP practice automatically at pre-defined intervals and placed in 'batch manager', the same as locally scanned documents. This is convenient both in practical terms from an audit/clinical governance point of view.

The data which accompanies EDT documents allows the Docman filing template to be automatically pre-populated saving time for the practice and reducing the potential for filing errors. Once filed the documents can be electronically work flowed and annotated by the practice in the same way as all other documents. EDT provides for practices a secure and reliable solution for the management of Out of Hours reports and other incoming documentation.

Jim Chase Managing Director, Adastra says ''The use of both Docman EDM and Adastra Case Management System across the majority of the Scottish Health Boards makes this collaboration extremely logical. GP Practices can now receive structured electronic documents from episodes of Out of Hours which is both more efficient for the GP and Out of Hours service and better for patient care."

"By PCTI and Adastra working together we are able to provide an easy to use solution for distributing and managing electronic documents that will further support the 'paper light' strategy in GP practices", Tim Robinson Business Development Manager, PCTI.
