SRC and PCTI partnership offers instant electronic document transfer for NHS Trusts

PCTI today announced that it has signed an agreement with SRC, the leading provider of digital dictation and voice recognition solutions to NHS Trusts.

PCTI’s Electronic Document Transfer (EDT) solution provides NHS Trusts with a simple and secure way to instantly deliver electronic documents to GP surgeries and Primary Care organisations. The solution captures and encrypts documents from hospital systems, transferring them over N3 using a HTTPS (SSL Security) connection to EDT enabled GP practices. The PCTI electronic distribution solution is now fully integrated with SRC’s range of WinScribe digital dictation, template management and document production systems.

The expanded portfolio of SRC products provides NHS Trusts with an efficient end-to-end solution, from dictation and transcription through to document approval and electronic distribution. The solution provides a cost effective means of Trusts meeting discharge letter delivery targets, which are being reduced to 24 hours after April 1 2010. The solution also saves significant printing and delivery costs, whilst ensuring important documents are securely delivered with minimal administrative intervention.

GP practices using Docman EDT, with its seamless clinical system integration, benefit from receiving electronic documents into a central location for rapid filing to the patient record and onward workflow for review and action. Practices where Docman is not deployed can also receive their documents electronically using EDT.

Speaking about the partnership, Chris Hart, CEO at SRC said, “This new partnership with PCTI enables SRC to extend our growing range of NHS solutions to include an advanced document creation and electronic distribution proposition. From recording through to final distribution, we now help customers right through the process, saving time and costs and ultimately improving the patient experience. The electronic document distribution capability has the potential to deliver immense benefits to our customer base of over 45 NHS Trusts.”

Philip Young, Development Director at PCTI Solutions said: “PCTI has long been a leader in providing practice management software, enabling GP surgeries to automate document workflows. The partnership with SRC offers even more users the opportunity to benefit from our electronic document transfer solution, helping hospitals to bridge the gap between document production and delivery. We are naturally excited about working with SRC and offering customers excellent quality, expertise and value.”

SRC and PCTI will be demonstrating the document creation and electronic document transfer solution, on stands D35 and D11 at EHI Live on the 9th and 10th November at The ICC, Birmingham.
